Skechers is really racking ’em up. The latest famous face to join the Manhattan Beach, CA-based brand’s Relaxed Fit campaign is the world’s most famous drummer: Ringo Starr. The former Beatle is swapping his drumsticks for kicks in Spring ’15, starring in TV, print, outdoor, online and point-of-sale ads through June 2016.

Skechers has signed retired New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera to star in its Relaxed Fit footwear line’s Spring ’15 campaign. Rivera will appear in ads spanning TV, print, outdoor and online as well as point-of-sale materials. “After 19 seasons on the mound, I’m the one that needs relief these days and comfortable Relaxed Fit shoes get the job done,” says the 13-time All-Star.
Following in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato has signed with Skechers and will appear in the company’s global marketing and social media campaigns through 2016. Lovato, known for hit singles “Heart Attack” and “Neon Lights” as well as two seasons as an X-Factor judge, will make her first official appearance in a new Skechers TV commercial and accompanying print ad later this year.

Skechers USA has announced that a lawsuit has been filed against Reebok International Ltd. for selling shoes that infringe on the Manhattan Beach, CA-based brand’s Go Walk line. The suit, filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, seeks compensatory and punitive damages as well as injunctive relief for infringing on Skechers’ patent and trade dress rights and for unfair competition. The suit states that Reebok is selling the infringing products under the name Reebok Walk Ahead RS.
