New Balance is suing Karl Lagerfeld.

Karl Lagerfeld, the long time creative director of Chanel, is being sued by New Balance. A lawsuit, obtained by entertainment site TMZ, details the Boston-based brand’s complaint, describing the shoe that is says is causing “confusion” for its customers. New Balance claims the K motif on the $370 sneakers sold under Lagerfeld’s eponymous label is too similar to the N logo it’s been using since the ’70s.

New Balance is releasing a pack of performance and lifestyle footwear to mark the mid-season achievements of its baseball athletes. Inspired by New York team colors, the special edition made-in-the-U.S.A. New Balance makes a donation to One Fund Boston.

New Balance today announced a $1 million donation to One Fund Boston, the fund set up by Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Governor Deval Patrick to aid those directly impacted by last week’s Boston Marathon bombings. In addition to this donation, any contributions by company employees with be matched by the New Balance Foundation. “The events at the Boston Marathon shook the streets of Boston, but not the spirit of our city,” Vice President of Administration for New Balance Anne Davis said.
