Shoe Carnival raises awareness for breast cancer research.

It’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and family footwear chain Shoe Carnival is lending a helping hand by raising money in each of its stores in the United States. The retailer will be selling pink wristbands at each domestic location throughout October to collect funds for breast cancer research, and hopes to raise more than $100,000. “This campaign to increase awareness of the disease touches the lives of so many people and families,” says Lisa Rosenbaum, vice president of women’s footwear and accessories.

Supra soups up its sneakers for the fight against breast cancer.

Super-cool California footwear brand Supra has joined Elyse Walker in the fight against cancer by creating a limited-edition Pink Party Society shoe to commemorate this year’s Pink Party, hosted by Anne Hathaway, on October 19. All proceeds go to Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. This will be the fourth year in which Supra has created a special shoe to support National Breast Cancer Awareness and participated in the annual charity event.
