Footwear industry focuses on Sandy relief
The footwear industry has been working overtime to meet the emergency relief needs of families in the New York and New Jersey areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Two Ten Footwear Foundation has delivered nearly $70,000 in emergency relief aid to footwear families. “That represents only 30 perent of the total calls we’ve received so far, and every day, more footwear families are contacting us. This is going to be on the scale of Hurricane Katrina – and we’re ready to do whatever we can,” says Kate Alley, director of social services.
