A lot done, more to do. That’s how Two Ten President Neal Newman summarizes week three of the organization’s month-long lineup of service projects as part of #FootwearCares. “While we recognize that the communities and organizations we are supporting are grateful for our help, we also know that in many cases we are just scratching the surface of what is really required to make a difference,” he says.
Two Ten continued its month-long bonanza of community service projects last week as part of #FootwearCares. April 7 found the FDRA working with SOME (So Others Might Eat) to serve lunch to 400 homeless people in Washington, DC.
Two Ten‘s expanded lineup of service projects as part of April’s National Footwear Cares Month kicked off this week and organizers say it’s surpassing all expectations.

New board members include David Bensadoun of Aldo, Timberland’s Patrik Frisk, Dave Grange of Lacoste, Scott Meden from Nordstrom, Liz Rodbell of The Hudson’s Bay Company, and Shoe Carnival’s Clifton Sifford.
Two Ten Footwear Foundation this week announced The Footwear Warrior Scholarship Fund, developed exclusively for military veterans in or returning to the footwear industry and made possible by an endowment fund launched by Quabaug Corporation, Vibram and the Donahue family with an initial committment of $125,000. The fund is donation driven with a goal of $250,000, which will yield an estimated $12,500 in scholarships on a yearly basis.
National Shoe Retailers Association (NSRA) is continuing its mission to improve the business performance of its members by last week announcing a new partnership with Two Ten Footwear Foundation to extend the charity’s services and financial assistance to independent footwear retailers across the United States.
Two Ten Footwear Foundation is partnering with Kenneth Cole for a one-day holiday promotion that’s just one more example of the industry’s committment to philanthropy (editor’s note: see our January issue next month). Using code KC210 tomorrow, Dec. 15, will ensure 10 percent of all purchases made at www.kennethcole.com will be donated to Two Ten. This meaningful donation will go a long way in helping footwear families who find themselves in need of financial aid this holiday season.
