Alzheimer’s Association voted winner of $75,000 donation from DSW.

Footwear and accessory chain DSW has announced the winner in its Shoe Lovers Care Leave Your Mark program: the Alzheimer’s Assocation. The Chicago-based non-profit was nominated by Patti Gilligan, director of change management at DSW, and will receive $75,000 towards its mission. From June 6 through 24, Shoe Lovers everywhere voted up to once per day on shoeloverscare.com to decide which organization they felt was most deserving of the grant money.

Marcia Cross joined fellow L.A. moms to celebrate back-to-school with DSW to benefit OPCC.

Actress and mother of two Marcia Cross teamed up with DSW to host a back-to-school picnic for L.A. moms last Thursday to benefit OPCC, the largest provider of housing and social services on the Westside of Los Angeles County and one of Cross’ personal charities. Each attending mom walked away with a pair of white Converse sneakers to personalize for their children at the picnic’s custom graffiti station and a VIP goodie bag stuffed with cosmetics and accessories.

DSW co-sponsored 7th Annual Kidstock Music and Art Festival

Discount footwear chain DSW was one of the sponsors at Kidstock, an annual music and art festival held this year at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, CA, on June 2. The retailer kicked off the fun with custom Converse hi-tops and airbrush artists were on hand to personalize designs. One-hundred percent of the profits went to One Voice Scholars Program, which aims to place lower-income L.A. students in colleges throughout the U.S. Among the famous faces on the day was celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis who attended the festivities with her 5-year-old daughter, Jade.

DSW marks the launch of Luxe810 with five pop-up shops

Discount footwear retailer DSW is moving on up. The chain announced Friday the launch of Luxe810, an online outlet offering up to 50 percent off luxury goods by Gucci, Prada, Bottega Venetta, Sergio Rossi and Marc by Marc Jacobs. To support the launch, it will open five Luxe810 pop-up shops in key metropolitan locations around the U.S., offering luxury accessories and ready-to-wear fashion. In addition, 17 DSW stores will carry a special selection of items for a limited time.
