Palladium hires Hommy Diaz as Global Product Line Manager

Iconic boot brand Palladium today announced the appointment of Hommy Diaz as global product line manager. In his new post in Westlake, CA, Diaz will report directly to President Larry Remington and will oversee all aspects of the product creation process. Diaz, whose resume includes stints at DC Shoes and Apple, will play an integral role in developing pricing and product calendars, lending his expertise on creative for new product initiatives and defining seasonal color and material palettes.

Etnies gifts new shoes to 360 children in need

Tis the season of goodwill and Etnies played its part on Friday by hosting its ninth annual holiday festival at the Etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest in California. Skateboarding owner and CEO Pierre-Andre Senizergues, along with team riders Nick Garcia, David Reyes, Aidan Campbell, Alex Midler and Chris Del Moro, handed out 360 pairs of shoes to children in need from various Orange County non-profits. And imagine the kids’ surprise when Santa Claus decided to show off his impressive boarding skills.

Anne Hathaway is very fussy.

Les Miserables’ costume designer, Paco Delgado, revealed to WWD that actress Anne Hathaway wore “sophisticated flats” made by “specific shoemakers” to play Fantine. 

“She’s vegan, so we couldn’t use any animal materials on the shoes for her character Fantine. We had to find very specific shoemakers to create lace-up boots and ankle boots,” Delgado said. “We also did flats that were much more sophisticated.”
