Shoes Stole the Show at New York Men’s Day

A movement toward minimal, vintage styles.

Last week, New York Men’s Day hosted morning and afternoon presentations of leading menswear designers at Daylight Studio in Manhattan. Sperry returned at footwear sponsor for the SS25 event. The brand had an on-site activation highlighting new styles at the show, and multiple designers selected Sperry shoes to style with their collections.

Indeed, it will be the spring of the driving moc and boat shoe, but they weren’t the only silhouette making a splash. Continuing the nautical theme were sleek fisherman sandals, and minimal sneakers offered a sleek inverse to the chunky dad shoes of recent seasons. Heeled boots were hot at the fall presentations, and they’re back to give men a boost for spring.

So-long laces, the spring of the moc toe is coming. Designers across New York Men’s Day favored these sleek styles. At The Salting’s SS25 presentation, the designer styled all looks with the Florsheim Rucci Moc Toe Penny Loafer. Sivan and Of-Nothing both chose Sperry classics to complement their looks.

Retro Sneakers

Sneakers are always a no-brainer in men’s fashion, but this year’s presentations favored minimal styles with a vintage feel. Sermon Series paired tailored separates with an array of classic Gola sneakers. Clara Son, Of-Nothing, and Terry Singh opted for Sperry sneakers. Tarpley put a different spin on the trend by styling long shorts with retro skate sneakers.

Heeled Boots

For the fashion-forward guy who wants to stand tall, heeled boots continue to be a bold choice. At A. Pott’s, models wore the Stacy Adams Sandoval Cuban Heeled Boot in Blue and White with the designer’s retrofuturistic styles. Doves Cry and Sivan opted for some black heeled boots for a strong statement.

Fisherman Sandals

At Stan and Of-Nothing, classic brown leather fisherman sandals offered a sophisticated take on the silhouette, with or without socks.
