Coloring on your Converse has always been cool. Recently, dying your kicks has been trending on TikTok, and the brand is teaming up with Rit Dye to capitalize on the movement.
On May 23, the brand released a DIY project kit with the heritage dye brand, featuring everything you need to transform your kicks: Three primary color dyes (lemon yellow, cherry red, and aquamarine), gloves, squeeze bottle, and sponge brush. Masking tape and stickers are also included to protect your All Star’s signature vulcanized sole and ankle patch.

The collaboration is on brand for Converse, which aims to foster self-expression by giving customers tools and choices to customize their shoes. Additionally, customers can create their own Converse through Converse By You, a tool that allows shoppers to add embellishments like embroidery, patches, and laces. These customizations are also available at Converse’s premium full-price stores in Boston, New York, and Glendale, CA.
The Converse x Rit DIY project kit is available for $25 on the brand’s website and in select stores. For best results, the brand recommends pairing with the Chuck Taylor All Star or All Star Lift in Optical White.
