Socially responsible footwear brand Freewaters has produced a Channel Islands Surfboards sandal collection for men for Spring ’15 that will debut at next month’s Surf Expo. Each of the four styles features a different material and footbed graphic story and the iconic Channel Islands hex logo is molded and inserted into the outsole of each flip, which leaves behind an imprint in the sand with every step.
Eco-conscious footwear brand Freewaters has inked a deal with Bruce Brown Films celebrating the 50th anniversary of iconic surfer movie “The Endless Summer.” “Bruce, Robert [August] and Mike [Hynson] helped open the world’s eyes to the amazing waves, people and culture of South Africa almost 50 years ago,” says Freewaters Ambassador Robert Wingnut Weaver, who starred in the film’s sequel. “Now to be partnering “The Endless Summer” with Freewaters and its clean drinking water projects in Africa, it has really come full circle.”
Former Gore-Tex employees Brad and Sheena Van Orden hit the open road in 2011 in a customized 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon named Nacho to discover cultures, food, recreation and friendly faces–and to do some good along the way, too. Now the duo has teamed up with eco-conscious footwear brand Freewaters on a sustainable community water project.
