Under Armour Catches NFL Footwear and Glove Deal

Multi-year partnership supports brand and player initiatives.

Today, Under Armour and the National Football League announced a long-term partnership that distinguishes the brand as an official footwear and glove partner. Under Armour previously had a deal with the NFL from 2006 to 2020, and now the brand will again have rights to include UA logos on the field. (Nike and Adidas also provide footwear and gloves, while Nike still holds the larger uniform and apparel contract.)

Under the partnership, the NFL will support Under Armour’s grassroots initiatives, like its UA Next platform that promotes youth sports and development. The brand also stands to gain on-field and in-game exposure, with access to NFL media platforms, content creators, and distribution channels.

“At Under Armour, we’re passionate about nurturing talent and transforming the way athletes perform,” offers Sean Eggert, SVP of Global Sports Marketing for the brand. “With a shared dedication to investing in the game, from the pros to grassroots, we’re thrilled to continue shaping the future of the sport alongside the NFL.”

The brand’s athletes are equally enthusiastic. “From before I even set foot on an NFL field, Under Armour has been like a second skin for me,” adds Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings All-Pro wide receiver. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the team and welcome the next generation of great players into the fold.”

According to the brand, this multiyear partnership is a further demonstration of its efforts to support players on and off the field, and provide fan-first experiences for consumers.
