On Monday, Twisted X joined forces with retail partners around the country for an Earth Day cleanup. The sustainable footwear brand hosted its annual Love of the Land community cleanup initiative at its Decatur, Texas headquarters.
To extend the reach of this mission, Twisted X encouraged retail partners to join in, providing them with comprehensive cleanup kids that included compostable gloves, a biodegradable trash bag, and a gift certificate to show gratitude for the attendees’ participation. In total 33, retailers participated in their own cleanup, doubling the participation from last year.
“We have a responsibility as humans to help the environment and the communities we live in,” offers Twisted X CEO Prasad Reddy. “It is so exciting to work with our retail partners and see how far this initiative can go thanks to the participation of passionate individuals and companies nationwide.”
While Earth day offers an extra push to be mindful, sustainability is a year-round commitment for the brand. With sustainability at the core, every Twisted X active shoe has at least one “green” element. And, over 7.5M+ plastic bottles have been upcycled into ecoTWX, a sustainable fabric for footwear. As of 2020, the brand became carbon neutral and has remained since, offsetting more than 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide. Additionally, it has planted over 500,000 trees in partnership with One Tree Planted.
