This past weekend, The Athlete’s Foot (TAF) hosted an event with Kicks & Fros at its Charlotte, NC, store in honor of Women’s History Month. Kicks & Fros is a lifestyle brand, sneaker cleaner, and community created to educated, entertain, elevate, and inspire Black and Brown women in the sneaker community.
The event was hosted by Kicks & Fros founder Melissa Chanel for an afternoon of music, style, and a lively panel discussion covering women in business, entrepreneurship, and self care. Panelists included licensed therapist Dr. Alicia Octavia, mural and free-hand artist MakaylaBinter, and coffee shop owner Cheryse Terry. It was a highlight of the day, offering insightful and inspiring conversations that resonated deeply with attendees.

The sock customization station emerged as a standout attraction, where attendees unleashed their creativity, personalizing their style in a unique, hands-on experience. The event also included a fashion show, an electrifying performance by DJ Pers3vere, and refreshments. Winners of TAF’s “All About Air” contest were awarded with a swag bag filled with Nike air products and other items.
