Alterre is a luxury sustainable footwear company crafting beautiful, modular shoes to increase versatility and comfort and decrease consumption. This month, the brand announced a collaboration with Brooklyn-based designer bridal boutique, Loulette Bride. The collection features thoughtfully designed wedding shoes for the conscious modern bride.
Alterre Co-Founders, Harmony Richards and Shilpa Iyengar, and Loulette Bride Founder, Marteal Mayer, designed the shoes with a shared approach of comfort and playfulness. The Ivory Twist Sandal is paired with the brand’s Marilyn Strap, which can be detached and replaced with most Alterre straps. The resulting style can be worn as a mule, sandal with ankle strap, or Mary Jane.
The Ivory Twist silk charmeuse sandals feature a leather lining and composite leather sole, with a cushioned foam midsole for underfoot comfort. “We are so thrilled to be collaborating with Loulette Bride, a bridal company that reflects the same values for ethical production and consumption as we do,” adds Harmony Pilobello, Alterre Co-Founder and Vice President. “This collaboration is something that celebrates brides seeking beautiful, comfortable heels they can feel good wearing and buying.”
The limited-edition style retails for $277 at AlterreNY.com, LouletteBride.com, and the Loulette Bride studio in Brookyln. Additionally, 5% of profits from the collection will be donated to Restore NYC, a non-profit organization that provides rehabilitation to survivors of sex trafficking in New York.
