Milan Fashion Week Men’s is always fashion’s first glimpse at the new season, and this month’s SS25 shows have lived up to the hype. Partnering with Italian shoemaker Marsèll, designer Dhruv Kapoor‘s runway show illustrated a journey from childhood to adulthood. The co-ed collection revisits a time when gender had no bearing.
The show evoked an eclectic mix of borrowed dad shoes, oversized pieces borrowed from a sibling, slouchy ’90s silhouettes, flared silhouettes, and summer jorts with a vintage feel. “The play on then and now is enhanced by delightful visuals of giant and petite; raw and tailored; sophisticated and rugged, all with the undertones of a nostalgic romance,” explains the brand.
Styles include Kapoor’s signature touch of eye-catching details, like handcrafted embroideries, doodled florals, hand-painted grids, and engineered collage prints. Materials span washed cotton poplin, upcycled denim, textured faux leather taffeta, glazed nylons, and recycled suiting.
Models wore chunky loafers, platform sandals, studded Mary Janes, mesh flats, polished oxfords, and buttery leather booties by Marsèll. The designer also partnered with sustainable eyewear brand Junk Plastic Rehab.
