What do golf and hiking have in common? According to Merrell, walking 18 holes of golf is equivalent to hiking six miles. So it’s only fitting that the outdoor brand teamed up with Grayson Clothiers, a luxury lifestyle brand that merges fashion with sport, to release an exclusive golf shoe.
Together, the Michigan-based brands aim to rewrite the narrative around trail shoes in the sport of golf. The Greyson x Merrell Agility Peak 5 Zero is a versatile trail runner adapted for the course. It’s outfitted with all the bells and whistles of a hiking boot, including Gore-Tex waterproofing and a Vibram Megagrip outsole. A mid-ankle shaft height offers increased support, yet the shoe is ultra light and breathable. The result doubles as both a golf sneaker and a trail runner.
Available June 25 to align with the Rocket Mortgage Glassic PGA Tour in Detroit, both brands are hoping to reach new audiences with the slogan, “The Course is our Trail.”
