Neuroscientist Steffie Tomson, Ph.D., felt held back by her heels during her years practicing in the Texas Medical Center. One day, she brought her “comfort” heels into the lab and sliced them open, revealing a mix of plastic, metal, staples, and screws. She set out to create a wedge with the makings of a sneaker, and after years of trial and error, created an all-foam 2″ slender wedge.
Getaway Sticks was born, known for its RoamFoam™ base that offers the absorption of a sneaker in a stylish wedge, heel, or flat package. The Wild Wedge combines this top-tier comfort with a stylish, minimal profile and jungle-inspired upper. Part of the Biodiversity Collection, the design is inspired by nature photography. And, proceeds of each sale supports organizations including the North American Butterfly Association, the Rainbow Parrot Rescue of Florida, the Toucan Rescue of Costa Rica, and the Zebra enclosure at the Houston Zoo.
