André Assous has been synonymous with footwear since the 1970s, when its namesake designer introduced espadrilles to the U.S. Now, the brand is delving into a new category: made-in-Italy handbags.
The goal is to expand while staying true to the brand’s DNA with designs that complement its contemporary footwear collection. Striking a balance between timeless and modern, the initial drop includes four unique styles: a tote, bucket bag, cross-body, and wearable phone case. Each style is available in several neutral colorways and crafted from Italian leather.
“We are thrilled to introduce our new collection of handbags to the Andre Assous fans and followers this summer,” says Solomon Dabah, President of Vida Shoes International. “As we continue to expand our offerings, the handbag category feels like a natural next step for Andre Assous. We utilize the same craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the usage of Italian leather to create a line that perfectly complements our footwear that will carry you throughout the year. Each silhouette is designed with the Andre Assous woman in mind as we continue our product expansion.”
