Chloë Sevigny’s Go-To Shoe Straddles Coquette and Gorpcore

The versatile Ecco style will be back for SS25.

Actress and ultimate It girl Chloë Sevigny became a fashion muse in the 1990s with her Indie Sleaze looks. Now, the starlet is known for her curated, eclectic aesthetic and unique personal style. So unlike other celebs who refuse to be photographed in the same thing twice, Sevigny knows what she likes and sticks to it.

Right now, she’s loving the Ecco Biom C-Trail sneaker. The shoes are part of an ongoing collaboration with fashion icon and former Chloé creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi. A sleek upper and ghillie ties create a ballet flat aesthetic contrasted with utilitarian rubber outsoles. Perfect for stomping through urban streets, the styles are a favorite for Sevigny, who was captured wearing the shoes around her hometown of New York nearly a dozen times.

She remixed the shoes through the city’s rainy spring and summer heatwave with a pair of simple socks and an array of athletic shorts, feminine dresses, and layers of denim. She often tops the look with a vintage-style Gap windbreaker, balancing utilitarian and dainty pieces.

For those who want to emulate Sevigny’s look, there’s good news. Although the shoes are currently sold out, Ecco’s VP of Product and NY Operations, Kevin Isbell, confirms they will return for SS25. “Those who love the Natasha Ramsey-Levi (NRL) ghillie can look forward to the next hot drop from her coming this fall; key franchise products and innovation technologies will both be utilized as they are core to the brand,” he adds.

He goes on to tell Footwear Plus that there is more to the shoe than fashion: “Ecco is a brand that has always focused on innovation as one of its core values. The BIOM technology utilized in this BIOM C-Trail ghillie worn by Sevigny is a unique technology that stimulates the natural movement of the foot,” he explains. “This paired with ECCO Fluidform technology ensures a seamless bond between the upper and the sole resulting in a soft feel that empowers all-day comfort.”
