Timo Weiland teamed up with Clarks USA for its Fall ’14 presentation as part of New York Fashion Week. A series of classic heritage styles including the Wallabee Ridge, Newby Jump, Desert Boot and Desert London complimented the brand’s collection of casual prep and sportswear-inspired duds, which drew on the designers’ continuant New York concept with strategically placed stripes, muted, checker plaid patterns and leather detailing.
New York shoe designer Ruthie Davis has joined forces with Duckie Brown for the brand’s first foray into womenswear. The Ruthie Davis (Heart) Duckie Brown collection is a culmination of Davis’ aesthetic and Duckie Brown’s ability to blend whimsical sportswear with elegant tailoring. The line features two color-blocked pumps in jewel tones including navy, fuschia, magenta and olive hues. Rich, saturated leathers in unexpected color combinations are juxtaposed against Davis’ high-shine rose and yellow gold signature architectural heels.
Wolverine 1000 Mile has once again teamed up with Brooklyn, NY-based designer Samantha Pleet for her Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Exploring themes of early modern art and design, the line draws inspiration from Picasso’s harlequins, Schiele’s muses and Bauhaus geometry in the silhouettes and details. The luxurious texture palette of silk satin, tattered georgette, supple lambswool and embroidered velvet is rendered in a vibrant story represented by Pleet’s handpainted watercolors.
Project Runway breakout star Christian Siriano and Payless ShoeSource have teamed up to bring immediate access to affordable runway fashions with the Feb. 18 availability of LeToile, a direct-from-the-runway black patent slingback featured in Siriano’s show this past weekend, offered at thousands of Payless stores nationwide and online for $30.
The Show: Richard Chai Love and Richard Chai Men’s
The Look: Sporty styles in a soothing palette of watercolor blues and tans made their way down the runway at Lincoln Center this morning. Chai favored halter dresses, skater skirts, printed pants and cotton parkas for the girls, while men’s was a mash-up of Jay Gatsby-esque trousers, button-downs and bucks and utilitarian silhouettes.
The Trimmings: Women wore mid-wedges from Dr Martens, while men marched in Palladium lace ups and Baggy canvas hightops.
The Show: Samantha Pleet
The Look: Presented at the Wolverine Company Store in Nolita on Wednesday, “The Sands of Time” drew inspiration from ancient societies of the Fertile Crescent and the 19th Century explorers that discovered them. The color palette was neutral with a smattering of teal and turquoise that emphasized the simplicity of the Laura Ingalls-goes-to-Williamsburg maxi and midi skirts and dresses.
The Trimmings: The models wore Wolverine 1000 Mile by Samantha Pleet shoes, jewelry by Cold Picnic and head pieces by Sarah Frances Kuhn.
