French fashion house Maison Martin Margiela gives all-American Converse kicks an avant-garde makeover for fall. The first-time collaboration features Chuck Taylor All Stars and Jack Purcell sneakers, each completely hand-painted in Margiela’s iconic white paint. Covering all canvas, eyelets, laces and soles, they naturally crack and shed their outer coat of paint to reveal the original colors beneath.
Single girls with rodent issues can complete their 21st century fairytale with glass slippers from Maison Martin Margiela. The limited-edition heels are the latest eccentric accessories—or art pieces—in the Belgium’s portfolio of conversational designs, including a plated brass hospital bracelet.
And with a price tag of $1,277 each—yes, the shoes are sold separately—a fairy godmother, or a wealthy grandmother, may come in handy. Personally, I’m holding out for ruby slippers.
