Florence is famous for many things. Art. History. Beautiful buildings. Gelato. Season four of MTV’s Jersey Shore. Now the Italian city is home to a Luichiny flagship store, too. Located near the Piazza della Repubblica, the 800-square-foot space stocks the brand’s entire collection of shoes and boots. “Putting our footprint down in Florence is a key component of our global brand and distribution strategy,” says Diane Butrus, COO of Luichiny’s parent company, Demand Shoes LLC.
Fashion, art and dreams combine in “The Amazing Shoemaker – Fairy Tales and Legends about Shoes and Shoemakers,” at the Museo Ferragamo in Florence, Italy. Running from Apr. 19 to Mar. 31, the exhibition takes a look at the plethora of fairy tales, myths and stories based around shoemakers and shoes, including Cinderella, Puss in Boots and The Wizard of Oz – and let’s not forget the “fairy tale” of Salvatore Ferragamo himself, a man who pursued his dream of creating beautiful shoes that would inspire for generations.
