Rocky Brands donates 150 boots to Boston’s homeless.

Rocky Brands and non-profit Soles 4 Souls has fit residents of a Boston homeless shelter with 150 donated pairs of boots from its brands Rocky, Georgia Boot and Durango. The event is the fourth annual for the charity and the National Shoe Retailers Association in an effort to get footwear on the nation’s needy before the harsh winter cold kicks in. “As a footwear company, we are keenly aware of how important a pair of warm boots can be during the wintertime,” says Liz Horn, vice president of marketing at Rocky Brands.

The consumers have spoken – 6,428 to be precise. Fifteen-year-old  Megan McDonald has been chosen as the new face of Cougar Boots. Just over a month ago the company set out in a branded truck, offering fans the opportunity to see the new Pillow Boot collection, try on the boots of their choice and be photographed in them. This photo then became their entry into the contest to become the brand’s new face. McDonald’s billboard ad will be displayed on the corner of King and Spadina Ave in Toronto from Feb. 11 to Mar. 10.
