Star Wars fans everywhere rejoice. Last week Disney and Lucasfilm revealed the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, the latest film in the saga, and this June Vans will honor the momentous occasion with a six-piece offering that features classic styles stamped with artwork from the original trilogy.
To that end, the Classic Slip-On is paired with the 1977 poster artwork from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, and Era shoes are tricked out in comic book style graphics lifted from vintage merchandise. A classic Hawaiian motif and images of Yoda adorn the Authentic and Sk8-Hi Reissue, while the Authentic comes in two colorways: the first is a camo print adorned with Boba Fett and Stormtrooper characters; the second style mashes up one of Vans’ archived patterns with the Galactic Empire’s henchmen for an all-over print.
But that’s not all: a special assortment of Vault by Vans styles will hit select stores in the U.S., Paris, Berlin and Sweden later this month. The lifestyle brand dug deep into its archives and came up with two rare prints from the ’80s to pair with images of Star Wars villains. A collage pattern across the OG Sk8-Hi LX and OG Slip-On LX is made up of a vibrant Miami print and silhouettes of Imperial AT-AT Walkers. The Pirate print explores the Dark Side with an updated design that replaces the original skull and sword configuration with images of Darth Vader, Stormtrooper helmets and lightsabers for special color-ups of the OG Era LX and OG Sk-Hi LX. Lastly the OG Half Cab LX hosts the ultimate showdown between good and evil with an all-white yoda colorway going head-to-head with an all-black Darth Vader version. Less than 300 pairs of each style have been produced. For more information, visit vans.com.
