Country roads, take me home/To the place [Tradehome Shoes belongs]/West Virginia…
Tradehome Shoes, the Minnesota-based chain of 120 stores spanning 22 states, announced it will open its second location in West Virginia this June. In addition to its operation in Vienna, new digs will be in Barboursville, further south and also near the Ohio border. The new store will be in the Huntington Mall, and will carry premium brands including Hey Dude, Birkenstock, Sorel, Pikolinos, Chaco, Dansko, Ecco, Hoka, Brooks, On, and many more.
“Families appreciate the opportunity to get the right fit and style at a local store, where a knowledgeable associate can help them through the process,” states Mark Jacobson, head of store personnel. “Tradehome Shoes has prospered because we bring premium brands; athletics, sandals, boots, hiking, and other lifestyle products to local markets.”
Established in 1921, Tradehome Shoes is a 100 percent employee-owned business and one of the larger ESOPs in Minnesota. The business was founded on the principle of “trading at home” in the local community instead of via catalogs. It has thrived from more than 100 years by creating community-based stores focused on customer service and a curated selection of footwear for the entire family. Tradehome Shoes also gives back to the communities where it conducts business through its Trade-at-Home-Give-at-Home initiative, which provides charitable donations to nominated schools and charities in those communities.
