Timberland Names New Global Marketing Exec

Former Nike executive, Drieke Leenknegt, has been named Timberland’s vice president, global marketing. Leenknegt will lead global brand marketing to elevate the brand’s creative vision, drive consumer engagement and experience (especially in the digital space) and long-term growth, according to a company release. She succeeds Argu Secilmis, who has taken on a new role as Vice President, Global Apparel for Timberland.

Leenknegt owns more than 20 years of global communications, product, marketing and management experience. She spent the bulk of her career with Nike, holding leadership roles in Europe, China and the U.S., most recently as Global Vice President of Influencer Marketing and Collaborations.

“Drieke is an ardent and strategic marketing innovator, and we are excited to welcome her to our brand,” states Martino Scabbia Guerrini, acting global brand president for Timberland and regional group president for VF Corporation EMEA. “Her passion for people and community, progressive thinking in fashion and sustainability and decades of industry experience make her a natural fit for Timberland. We look forward to leveraging Drieke’s deep understanding of the connectivity of cultures and her digital acumen to engage consumers in meaningful new ways and drive success across our brand platforms.”
