Karl Lagerfeld turned the attention of the world—or at least the fashion world—toward Salzburg, Austria, this morning for Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2015 runway show. Returning to the country where Coco Chanel gleaned her first inspirations for the braid-trimed jacket that would spark her legacy, Lagerfeld found similar inspiration for Chanel’s Métiers d’Art in the form of feathered hats, breeches and embroideries. Amongst the sea of long coats, short capes, floral appliqués and loads of lace were quilted block-heel patent leather boots, charming bow-adorned ballerinas and glossy clogs. Footwear standouts—all made by footwear mason Massaro—include cream floral appliqué heels, leggy lace-up thigh-highs and lacquered loafers.
