As New York sheds the winter blues, shoe brands are celebrating the warmer weather with fetes showcasing their soon-to-be-released fall styles. Partygoers were treated to fine foods, micro brews, a live band and even a funky photo booth. —Audrey Goodson and Angela Velasquez
Say cheese! Guests hammed it up for the camera at Sorel’s soiree, featuring a faux photo booth and loads of fun props—from tiny hats to fake mustaches. After sneaking a peak at the fall collection, attendees munched on snacks while surrounded by models posing behind picture frames in the brand’s latest styles.
In keeping with the green theme of Timberland’s Earthkeepers collection, the brand treated fashion bloggers and industry pros to the “rooftop-to-table” fare at Manhattan hotspot Bell Book & Candle, where the food is first grown on an innovative “aeroponic” rooftop garden. Guests were also able to give their green thumbs some exercise by potting pansies, thyme and oregano to take home.
Who says New Yorkers can’t appreciate a little southern hospitality? To launch the new Billy Reid for K•Swiss “Venice Surf & Court” sneakers, guests were treated to a bourbon tasting while viewing the line of washed canvas sneakers. The bash hopped across the street to the Billy Reid store, where southern alt-rock band Drive By Truckers put on a show.
Partygoers braved the rain to take in the views of Fifth Avenue and Central Park from Ugg’s showroom and terrace, in honor of the brand’s expanded men’s collection launching this fall. Visitors tasted locally-brewed beer from Long Island-based Blue Point Brewing Company and noshed on treats from nearby Butch Bakery.
