The momentum continues to build for ENKWSA, as several big brands come on board and the show announces a new Industry Icon award.

With Deckers making ENKWSA the site of Ahnu’s official launch, and more brands like Merrell and Ecco coming back to the show this year, David Kahan, president of ENK Footwear Group, is planning for an action-packed July show. “Brands are responding to our proposition, which is simple: Footwear retailers desperately need one show dedicated to footwear—three days where they can focus on the category that puts food on their table,” Kahan explains. “They want a venue where the community can join together, all under one roof and do business plus maybe have a little fun along with it.”

And although the show’s registration is up significantly over February and almost 1,000 footwear brands plan to attend, Kahan has even bigger news to share: Decker’s CEO Angel Martinez will be honored at an opening night beach bash as the first annual recipient of the ENKWSA Footwear Industry Icon Award. “Having Angel Martinez as the recipient of our inaugural Industry Icon Award really helps us connect with the retail community since his efforts have played a huge role in the success of his retail partners,” Kahan notes. “He also leads an organization that has a desire to incubate, nurture and develop emerging brands—which is exactly what a great trade show can lend to the industry.” —Audrey Goodson
