| Capitalizing on the popularity of its Berries and Essence women’s collections—and the boot craze sweeping the industry—Aetrex unveiled its first line of boots at WSA. With customizable features and stretch fabrics, the new collections combine the company’s commitment to comfort with a fashionable flair and practical features like waterproofing and anti-microbial linings.

The boots in the Berries collection consist of three styles, all featuring a memory foam insole, four-way stretch upper, Neoprene linings for insulation, waterproofing technology and anti-microbial linings—the perfect superboot for tackling winter sidewalks. “Our 2010 Berries collection has been our most successful footwear launch in the company’s history,” says CEO Larry Schwartz. Their amazing features and benefits made it natural to create a line extension for fun, fashionable Berries Boots.” The three styles include Tall Boots, Mid-Calf Boots and Bungee Boots, which retail for $139.95 to $149.95. “The Bungee Boots are the most unique and distinctive looking style in the collection, and garnered a great response from retailers,” says Matt Schwartz, vice president of sales at Aetrex. “These styles prove that women don’t need to sacrifice comfort to wear fashionable boots.”

| Sue Ryder, Women’s Product Director at Aetrex, thinks the versatility of the Berries boots should also strike a chord with buyers. “Berries Boots offer comfort, warmth and waterproofing, making them unique to anything on the market today,” she explains. “Combine those features with the colors that will be trending this fall, stylish accents and flexible shafts that can be worn at full height or folded for a reversible look, and you’ve got the total package.”
The new Essence boots include a Tall Riding Boot, Tall Wedge Boot and Ankle Boot, all made with waterproof Italian calf skin leather, soft suede uppers and four-way stretch fabrics. “All the Essence Boots feature insoles made with memory foam and plenty of room for custom orthotics, making them the most comfortable footbed for boots in the industry,” Ryder notes. —Audrey Goodson
