FFANY announces the 2016 Joseph C. Moore Footwear Scholarship recipient for 2016.

Congratulations to Chelsea Fu, who was chosen as the Joseph C. Moore Footwear Scholarship recipient for 2016. The Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) and Arsutoria School in Milan proudly announced the winner and finalists of the award—in honor of former FFANY CEO Joseph C. Moore—last week.

Out of the seven finalists, Fu (a graduating senior in accessories deisgn at Parsons) was chosen as the scholarship winner, providing her the opportunity to receive advanced training in footwear design at a 13- week shoe patternmaking and prototyping course at Arsutoria in Milan. The scholarship will cover free tuition valued at $11,700, accommodation at the Arsutoria residence valued at $ 5,000, in addition to round trip airfare for a total scholarship value of over $17,500.

Alice Oggionni, a student at SCAD was awarded second place and Isabella Bowie, a student at Parsons was awarded third. Both will receive the opportunity to attend the Arsutoria five-day intensive course on footwear fundamentals and the “Art of Traditional Shoemaking.” The class will be held in New York City at the T-Project showroom and is valued at $2,500.

Fu, along with the other top two finalists, will be honored at the FFANY Industry event on June 7, 2016 at Bryant Park Grill in New York City, during the market.
