Let’s get right to the point: Sharp shoes are back in a big way. Pointed toes can be found tailoring every silhouette from brogues to boots to sandals. D’Orsay cutouts, metallic accents, structured block heels, animal-inspired textures and funky platforms take this classic trend from antiquated to artful. The narrow toe boxes at Narciso Rodriguez’s Spring/Summer 2015 show (at left) felt modern, sleek and sexy whilst Vera Wang (above left) made her point with chunky Mary Janes and high-heeled loafers. Prabal Gurung debuted his first footwear collection this fall–a particularly poignant pair of strappy pointed-toe stilettos were a standout. Retailers, take note: Pair these pointed styles with anything from destroyed denim to a prim and proper pencil skirt to attract attention from head to toe.
