Nurse Mates launched its fourth annual #GiveHeartsForKids campaign in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness month in September. The campaign kicked off Aug. 26, with the launch of two limited-edition sneakers. A portion of proceeds from each sale will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is reprising its role as the official national charity partner for the #GiveHeartsForKids campaign.
“Nurse Mates is proud to once again work in partnership with St. Jude to raise awareness surrounding Childhood Cancer Awareness Month,” states Steve Johnson, national sales manager for Nurse Mates, a division of H.H. Brown Company. “It has been a privilege to witness the #GiveHeartsForKids campaign evolve, and to continually surpass our fundraising goals each year. Giving back is a foundation of the healthcare industry, our team, along with our loyal community, and we will continue to devote ourselves to aiding St. Jude’s mission.”
The limited-edition collection features one style in two color combinations available on Nursemates.com as well as several additional online retailers. The Adela ($64.95) is a favorite among Nurse Mates consumers, and the brand’s take on this limited-edition version features a shimmery gold goring as well as a gold heart in honor of the campaign. Nurse Mates will donate $25 of each pair to St. Jude’s. The brand will also continue the campaign’s social media cause component. Consumers who feature hearts on their Instagram pages—using the hashtag #GiveHeartsForKids—will see Nurse mates donate $1 (up to $10,000), for every post during the month of September. (Limited to one post per Instagram user.)
“We are incredibly grateful for Nurse Mates and its continued support of the lifesaving work at St. Jude,” says Richard Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “The #GiveHeartsForKids campaign has inspired the health-care community in addition to so many others who are uniting behind the St. Jude mission: Finding cures. Saving Children.”
