Mozo Shoes Releases Picnic Collection

The culinary footwear staple rolls out two limited-edition women's styles that evoke summer afternoons devoted to food and friends.

This weekend saw the surprise launch of MOZO Shoes’ Picnic Collection. The brand, a leader in footwear for culinary professionals and enthusiasts, launched the collection to call forth warm memories of an afternoon on a blanket in a grassy field devoted to food and friends. Slated to premier in April, the collection offers two new styles for women: the Sport Picnic, which is a slip-on flat with cross-over stitching details, and the Maven Picnic, reminiscent of a classic sneaker that can be worn as either a lace-up or slip-on. Each style features checkered interior linings to call forth images of a gingham blanket, waxed canvas uppers for easy cleaning, gel insoles for comfort and slip-resistant outsoles for traction. Both styles come in blue and pink, with an additional black option in the Sport Picnic silhouette. Available in women’s sizes 5-12, both styles retail for $85 and are available through Spring 2015.

Director of Marketing Makenna Thatcher, reflects, “[The Picnic Collection] fits in with MOZO’s mission to create good-looking shoes that appeal to the culinary enthusiast and that have the added benefits of being lightweight with ample traction and superior comfort. It is also easy to clean and boasts soft canvas textures. It is as ideal for the female working long hours on her feet in the hospitality industry as for the fashionista on the go.”

An added bonus for the first 200 customers is a free e-book delivered via email. It “features picnic recipes and picnic tips from inspiring females who are leading the way in the culinary and wine spaces: Aliya LeeKong, Sonya Cote, Jenn Louis, Laura Maniec, Wendy Weston, Kirsten Saenz Tobey, Manie Handel, Andrea Slonecker, and Jen Stevenson. This was a very fun a collaboration with women we admire, and it was a wonderful way for us to gift our customers and celebrate the art of picnicking,” states Thatcher.
