All Tied Up

When in Rome (or New York or Paris or Milan), gladiator sandals are the must-have footwear of spring’s most stylish set. An evergreen trend that continues to rise in popularity and in height (up the calf), gladiator sandals were co-opted ages ago from courageous warriors and mythical goddesses. Today the trend is realized by designers at Valentino (far left) and Chloe (at left) in pastel colors and adorned with gold hardware. Best paired with miniskirts and short flowy dresses, leggy looks let laces roam to new heights. This neoclassical style will revive any spring selection. Take a page from designers’ Spring 2015 handbooks and opt for to-the-knee laces in minimal styles sans last season’s fringe and bead bedazzlements.
