Designer Sherwayne A. Mahoney steps out with his own line of shoes.
What does a Bronx-born cartoonist turned upscale accessories designer of scarves, jewelry and home pillows do next? Well, launch his own shoe collection, of course! Sherwayne A. Mahoney’s brand new women’s line, dubbed Things II Come, is made in Italy and spans flats, pumps, booties and wedges. Luxe materials encompass suede, velvet, leather and python and embellishments include gold links and Swarovski crystals.
Mahoney’s fashion chops began developing early—in high school, in fact. After hearing girls’ laughter spilling from a classroom, he peeked in and discovered a Fashion Illustration course. He laughs, “It was all women. Needless to say, I took the class the next semester.” But his interest in fashion wasn’t all about impressing the ladies: He went on to attend New York City’s prestigious Parsons and FIT programs and when he decided to create a collection of footwear, he did his homework, visiting Manhattan retailers to assess current styles.
The results are sure to impress! Check out the company’s website to see the complete offerings. And while the line isn’t available for purchase yet, look out for the styles to hit retail shelves soon!
