Hats off to Farm-Way

Vermont retailer garners lauded award from Boston Shoe Travelers Association.

Congratulations to Farm-Way, the family-owned clothing, outdoor equipment and housewares store on Route 25 in Bradford, VT. The store has been named Retailer of the Year by the Boston Shoe Travelers Association (BTSA), recognizing Farm-Way’s excellence as independent retailers and placing them at the top of more than 350 retailers from throughout New England. Farm-Way President Carol Metayer reacted to the news, saying, “We are very happy to be recognized for all the improvements we are making to our footwear showroom and warehouse and will continue to strive to offer the best in service and selection.”

The BTSA is the oldest regional shoe travelers association in the nation, dating back to 1901, in the days when shoe sales reps traveled dirt roads in horse-drawn buggies, the first automobiles and steam trains. The organization brings together footwear sales people to create trade shows that showcase the latest in products for independent, catalog and internet retailers. Each get-together at the Manchester, NH Radisson Convention Center features more than 200 sales rep and 600 shoe and accessory lines. The organization also works to further the status and recognition of their profession and encourage ethical standards for its members.
