Gaining Traction

After blizzard Jonas hit the East Coast, winter conditions has been a buzzing topic. Fittingly, Merrell received a nod from outdoor sport trade show ISPO this week for its innovative sole technology. The brand received ISPO’s Gold Award for its Capra Glacial Ice+ boot, featuring a Vibram Artic Ice Grip sole designed to provide traction in the most extreme winter conditions. A thermochromatic lug turns from white to blue at 32-degrees Fahrenheit as a sign for icy temperatures. Available for men and women, the boot is lightweight and breathable, designed to provide warmth without overheating. Kelly Ballou, Merrell’s director of global marketing adds: “This innovative footwear is another way the Merrell brand is committed to helping the young-at-heart adventurer explore the outdoors, regardless of weather.”
