Full Bellies, Full Hearts

Yesterday, more than 60 shoepeople gathered to help Milwaukee’s Hunger Task Force as a part of the Two Ten Footwear Foundation’s Footwear Cares month. In two shifts throughout the day, volunteers from companies including WEYCO, Kohl’s, IMPO, Vida Shoes, Stan’s Fit for Your Feet, Bon Ton and Allen Edmonds came together to pack boxes of food for underprivileged people in the Milwaukee area, many of them senior citizens. “People were so engaged,” adds Two Ten Chief Marketing Officer Terri Rawson. “It was just remarkable that everyone took time out of their day to help, and that they were so happy to do it.” The day was one of the organization’s group events, designed to bring together footwear employees from all corners of the industry for a cause—which in this case was Milwaukee’s largest free food bank.
