Sneaker freaks have yet another excuse for refusing to part with their smart phone: SoleSearch, a mobile app that connects users to specialty sneaker boutiques everywhere from Toronto to Australia. In December, the popular iPhone app will be available on more than 90 different Android devices.
Independent retailers can use the app to connect with customers in a completely new way, says SoleSearch creator Brandon Williamson. “The SoleSearch application finds independent boutiques as opposed Foot Locker or Champs, so it gives the nod to the independent sneaker shops all over the world.”
Integrated with Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter and Four Square, Williamson adds that the app “gives users interactive methods to not only find the boutiques that may be tucked into different corners of the earth, but it also allows users to share with their social networks the stores they’ve visited, as well as what they purchased.” So far, SoleSearch has received 30,000 downloads on Apple devices.
