Soiree, celebration, shindig… no matter what you call a party, no one throws one quite like the Brazilians. So it’s only natural that Brazilian-made, Northern California-based Klub Nico launches a collection of fine leather special occasion footwear in time for warm weather fetes. “Many people requested a shoe that took them effortlessly from day-to-night and we did just that,” explains Kelley Lehner, president and designer.

The special occasion collection delivers a sweep of heel options—a perk for clients with a firm idea of what they want and an opportunity for the brand to explore new silhouettes, according to Lehner. Heel heights vary from 2.5 to 4 inches and Lehner notes the brand is open to customization. One dance-ready candidate, she adds, is a 1-inch platform on a 4-inch heel.

Other Spring ’11 Klub Nico styles include petite wedges, padded and unpadded flats, and platforms up to 5-inches. Studded clogs and lace-up sandals with cutouts, braided leather details and rhinestone and sequin embellishments are also a part of the collection, and Lehner is particularly excited about her oxfords. “We can’t wait to show off our new oxfords with a low wedge,” she says. The traditionally masculine shoe is made feminine and sweet with revealing cutout details and unexpected color combinations.

The collection, which retails between $80 and $150, also includes the label’s popular t-strap Jayne sandal revamped, this season with a new padded sole and available in a wild color palette. Colors range from intense crimson and poppy to soothing baby blue and turquoise. Metallic pewter, silver, steel, bronze and champagne gold also blanket the line.
