Earth OpCo, a majority stakeholder of Windsong Capital, has named Alison Bergen as the newly appointed CEO, replacing Mark Parsley. Bergen comes to Earth with nearly 20 years of experience in the consumer and retail industries, most recently as CEO of Aerosoles, where she led the brand turnaround from post-bankruptcy acquisition in 2018 to its sale to American Exchange group this year. Prior to Aerosoles, Bergen earned her MBA at Stanford University and held leadership positions at Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton.
“Alison was the obvious choice to help Earth get to the next phase of our business,” states Phil Meynard, founder and chairman of Earth. “Her unique combination of professional experiences across categories, price points and phases of growth will be instrumental in setting Earth in the right direction for a strong future.”
Bergen was drawn to Earth and its potential for growth with its deep shoemaking history. (The company has been in business for more than 50 years and portfolio consists of Earth, Kalso, Earth Origins and Earth Spirit brands.)“I’m excited about the opportunity to help take a brand with tremendous heritage and history into an important next chapter,” Bergen says. “I love the clear mandate and mission of Earth Shoes—better shoes for you and your environment. We have work to do to get where we need to be in the future and have the talent, drive and clarity to get there.”
