DSW will donate $110,000 to nonprofits chosen by “shoe lovers”

DSW is giving back to the community once again through its Shoe Lovers Care “Leave Your Mark” program. After internally reviewing nominations from more than 11,000 DSW associates nationwide, the retailer has selected eight nonprofits: Amethyst, Inc., CHA Animal Shelter, Donate Life America, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Parkinson Foundation, Northern Illinois Food Bank, Soles4Souls, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. All are eligible to vote today through Nov. 25 at www.shoeloverscare.com. Results will be announced Dec. 26 and the organization with the most votes will be awarded a $75,000 donation. On top of that, DSW will donate $5,000 to each of the seven remaining nonprofits. “Giving back to the community is important to DSW. We are working through our Shoe Lover community in supporting the national and local organizations they are most passionate about,” says Jonica Armstrong, community relations manager.
