Cougar Shoes has appointed Jackie Charest vice president of marketing. Charest will play an integral role in further evolving the brand positioning with a particular focus on understanding customers and how to better serve them going forward. This involves developing strong relationships with key retail partners and implementing new programs and partnerships.
“We’re thrilled to have Jackie join our team. Her experience in the world of retail and brand management, along with her leadership will no doubt be an incredible asset as Cougar continues to grow and focus our efforts on both the U.S. and Canadian markets,” says Steve Sedlbauer, president of Cougar Shoes.
Ms. Charest joins Cougar with more than three decades of experience in marketing, retail and brand development. Her career began at Canadian luxury retailer Holt Renfrew. As vice president of marketing and media relations at Holt Renfrew, Charest oversaw the vendor marketing team, brand strategy, communication, media buying, events and partnerships. Prior to this role, as divisional vice president she created a new integration unit to centralize the planning, project management and execution of all brand campaigns for the luxury retailer. The combination of her strong retail, vendor relations and brand development experience will be of great benefit in her new role at Cougar.
“Cougar offers an exceptional product and I’m thrilled to get behind it and help the brand evolve,” says Charest. “I’m excited by all the opportunities ahead.”
