CHUCKiES New York has created its own custom tie-dye collection where proceeds will go to a different charity each month. This week the retailer donated custom tie-dye scrubs, baby bibs and more to the maternity unit at Manhattan’s Lennox Hill hospital for Covidd-19, believing it’s important to recognize healthcare workers and celebrate the new additions to families during these uncertain times.
“We love New York City, it’s our neighborhood, community and family,” says Ritch Erani, owner of CHUCKiES. “We feel for the people around us. We want to show our love and appreciation to them—the doctors, nurses, janitors and everyone in between. Thank you!”
Over it’s 40-year history, CHUCKiES New York (now with two Manhattan locations and online) has overcome its share of challenges, but nothing matches the test of this pandemic. “This has been the most damaging to our business since 9/11. Unfortunately worse,” Erani says. “But we will be back in early June, by appointment or walk- ins, if the store is empty. Better and more creative than before!” Erani adds, “We’re more excited than ever to see our customers, and all the amazing people that walk past our shop daily. We can’t wait to help our customers navigate through the difficult part of how to look chic during a pandemic!”
In the meantime, CHUCKiES New York wants everyone to support healthcare heroes—and look cute at the same time. Women’s, kids’, and babywear is available by special order. DM for inquiries: @chuckiesnewyork.
