What if you could get a workout and contribute to a good cause? Yesterday, Zappos did just that with its Pushups for Charity employee challenge. In the spirit of good, competitive fun, Zappos employees completed a total of 5,667 push-ups. The top female was Amy Norton, who completed 90 pushups in 90 seconds; and the top male was Germain Fullow, who completed 170 pushups in 90 seconds.
The Pushups For Charity premise is pretty straightforward: Gain pledges and complete as many pushups as possible in 90 seconds. The proceeds go to Boot Campaign, and provide grants for military service members and veterans. The campaign officially kicks off this Saturday, Armed Forces Day, and runs through Veteran’s Day on November 11, so interested individuals and teams can still get involved. Now, drop and give me 20!
