Blundstone Opens First-Ever U.S. Pop-up Store

Blundstone, the iconic Chelsea boot brand established in 1870 in Tasmania, is opening its first-ever U.S. pop-up store in Brooklyn, NY, and will be powered by DNA Footwear. From Nov. 4 through the end of March 2020, customers will be able to experience and shop the brand in a dedicated store space, featuring men’s, women’s and children’s leisure and work styles from the Fall/Winter ’19 collection.

“It’s a huge and exciting time for Blundstone,” says Steve Libonati, Blundstone’s U.S. distributor. “Our sales and distribution in the U.S. have continued to grow year over year and this pop-up is proof of the brand’s continued success and growth momentum.”

“Blundstone is a fast-growing brand with a cult following,” says Daniel Kahalani, CEO and owner of DNA Footwear, a six-store Nw York-based lifestyle chain. “When Blundstone said they wanted to do a pop-up, it was no brainer, and it’s at the perfect time when the demand for boots is at an all-time high.”

The store’s design will reflect Blundstone’s deep Tasmanian roots, featuring reclaimed wood, authentic leather hides and copper detailing to highlight the brand’s natural beauty and distinctive look and feel. And as one of the most popular destinations for Blundstone wearers, the borough’s trendy Williamsburg section lends itself as the ideal location for the pop-up, which opens ahead of Blundstone’s 150th anniversary in 2020. “Brooklyn is a home to many passionate Blundstone wearers and we are beyond excited to share more of our brand and product story in their own backyard,” says Kate Shevack, managing partner of Brand Initiatives Group, Blundstone’s U.S. marketing arm.

As part of the first U.S. pop-up store, Blundstone will partner with local brands to host a series of collaborative events and activations for consumers throughout the store’s duration. Programming details will be announced in the coming weeks. The store is located at the corner of North 7th St., right off the L train’s Bedford Ave stop.
