Throughout the month of October, Ara Shoes is teaming with Comfort One Shoes, the leading Washington, D.C. area comfort specialty chain, in support of Breast Care For Washington, a non-profit dedicated to reducing breast cancer mortality in the nation’s capital by promoting access to screening, diagnostics and treatment for all women, regardless of their ability to pay. For each pair of Ara Scout pink ballet flats sold, Comfort One Shoes will donate $75 of the cost to help fund the organization.
“Comfort One Shoes is committed to making our community a better place to live, and we take part in a multitude of philanthropic events every year,” says Kristina Meacham, marketing director, Comfort One Shoes. “We raised more than $25,000 last year for Breast Care for Washington and hope to match that again this year.”
The Ara Scout is a classic slip-on ballet flat with a bow accent featuring an elasticized topline for a custom fit and features the brand’s HighSoft comfort technology. The shoe retails for $175 and can be purchased through this link.
The Comfort One Shoes Fall/Winter catalog features mother and daughter team Diane and Donita (pictured below) in the Ara Scout pink flat. Diane is a 20-year breast cancer survivor and outreach volunteer at Breast Care for Washington. Her daughter Donita was first a patient and is now an employee at the non-profit. “Comfort One Shoes is doing great things in their community, and we are proud to be involved in this fundraiser,” says Sam Spears, president of Ara North America. “We know that customers will love the style and comfort of the Scout, but knowing that $75 of the purchase price will go to a great cause will be even better.”
