Fashion insiders hit the 32nd annual AAFA American Image Awards this week to honor leaders in the apparel and footwear world. A-list celebs drew attention in alluring ensembles, with footwear ranging from statement making to understated but classy. —Leslie Shiers

“The City” ingénue Whitney Port, who recently launched the apparel line Whitney Eve, dazzled in a long navy gown with swaths of swiss dot tulle, edging up the look with a pair of black T-straps covered in silver studs. Co-star Erin Kaplan, PR director of Elle, was doing double-duty, making sure Elle’s creative director Joe Zee was prepped to present his award while simultaneously attracting paparazzi with her purple silk minidress and strappy nude Jimmy Choos.
Socialite Tinsley Mortimer had bystanders in awe with her spectacular white Atelier Versace dress and ornately detailed—and tremendously high—satin platform heels. Featuring a waterfall of beaded fringe, the shoes perfectly offset her gown’s swirling zipper details.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who co-hosted the awards, hit the red carpet with AAFA’s Brand of the Year winner Steve Madden, maker of the twins’ successful Elizabeth and James footwear collection. The girls worked their trademark boho glam, offsetting loose-fitting apparel with dramatic black shoes. Madden, meanwhile, donned Western boots in basic black. Tommy Hilfiger escorted his wife Dee (in gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels) wearing a pair of distinguished velvet slip-ons.
