Better known for his no-holds-barred celebrity commentary, gossip blogger Perez Hilton is applying that same gusto to his newest role as contributor to ShoeDazzle’s Celebrity Shoe Design Program for Charity. Sold exclusively on ShoeDazzle.com, Hilton says he jumped at the chance to play designer because sales from his shoes will be donated to his favorite charity. “I instantly chose the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network. Their work is so important and especially so right now,” he says.

Hilton’s shoes—the ‘Sparkle’ black faux suede pump with silver stud detailing and the ‘Shine’, a casual, unisex metallic sneaker—both retail for $39.95. “I definitely wanted to create one shoe that was unisex. That’s a first for ShoeDazzle’s Celebrity Designer Program and it was very important to me,” Perez explains. “I wanted to create shoes that were very sexy and sophisticated, but still fun. They are shoes that will get you noticed without being loud.” Hilton adds that he loves that women and men can help a great cause by buying fashion. He calls it, “Looking good and doing good.”

What Hilton lacks in professional design experience, he more than makes up in staying in tune with red carpet trends, as can be seen in his mini collection. Here, the blogger chats about his favorite shoe divas and what is catching his eye at retail.
Which celebrity do you think has the best taste in shoes? Lady Gaga because not only does she pick out great shoes, but she can also walk in some heels that would make most others trip.
Which celebrities would you love to see wearing your designs? I’d love to see Dita Von Teese rocking the stiletto and Emma Stone wearing the sneakers.
Which shoe designers do you admire most? Christian Louboutin because he’s made those red soles—patent pending—into a very profitable brand. And it’s deservedly so—he’s great!
How many pairs of shoes do you own? I’m a sneaker fiend. I probably have over 300 pairs.
Which shoe in your closet is getting the most wear right now? My metallic silver pointed toe lace-ups by St. Looi Blues. I bought the shoes on a recent trip to Australia and I am obsessed! —Angela Velasquez
